Context

Metal fabricators work from cutting files. This application generates AutoCAD-compatible cutting files (DWG/DXF) for them. Version 1 targets flat sheet-metal parts with bends, cut by laser. It is being piloted with a laser fabrication shop.

What I built

An AI application in which the design work is done by an agentic, tool-calling flow. It is AI producing machine-ready manufacturing output, which is where my Physical AI foundations and current agentic work meet.

How it works

A requirement goes to an agent. The agent does not draw: it works through typed design tools that operate on a structured part model. The part model is validated, and only then exported to DWG/DXF for the fabricator. CAD is the export layer, not the place where the design is reasoned about.

Typed tools on a structured model keep every design step inspectable and checkable before anything reaches a machine.

Stack

An agentic, tool-calling AI flow over a structured part model, with DWG/DXF export through an AutoCAD-compatible layer.
